on april 17 neil calore, a captain in the philadelphia fire department, set out to row 425 miles from washington d.c. to new york, with the aim of raising money for autism awareness. he arrived at pier 40 on monday at about 10 am, accompanied by the fdny fireboat 343, and left his boat, a 17-foot northeaster dory from chesapeake light craft, in our care. he says he’s thinking about a transatlantic row as his next project. he will be back this weekend to pick up his boat and may do a bit of rowing with us.
