Risers were installed, glued to clips on the ribs. Bow and Stern ends of the risers were glued to blocks which were then glued directly to the side of the boat.

Boatbuilding 3-6-11

We glued the gunwale decks and fore and aft decks. We worked some more on the floorboards. Sanded and grinded inside the hull.

VCB Boatbuilding 3-2-11

City As School students accompanied by their teacher Andre showed up in droves and working with other VCB volunteers got a lot done. As a result, the floorboards are built and mostly fit. Dave and Ruth worked on repair of the cannon ball hole in Bird and a crack in the Hull of GML in preparation for the Snow Row March 12.

Boatbuilding Report 2-27-11

We had a large turnout and got a lot done. Gunwale decks were cut and fitted. Floors were completed and floorboards are glued up or ready for gluing. Limber holes were reamed out. Fore and aft decks are almost ready for gluing. Thole pad blocks were installed. Supports for seats are built and ready to install.

Sally’s Progress Report on Cornish Pilot Gig: The floors were fitted and glued-no mean feat! The seams in the bow were sealed with a bead of epoxy. Mary Nell and Dave repaired the cannonball hole in Bird in anticipation of the Snow Row.
